Back in early February, MyWhoosh went into public beta with their Apple TV release. That went live a couple of days ago now. As part of that release, MyWhoosh also tested their “MyWhoosh Link” app, but at that time you had to be using the Apple TV beta to also get access to the Link app.
Well, yesterday (26th March 2024), the MyWhoosh Link app went publicly available for everyone. So I finally got my grubby mitts on it.
Here’s their official release gubbins:
They launched this on Facebook with the little tagline of “Introducing #MyWhooshLink! Sync seamlessly with your activities, unlocking enhanced performance and community interaction.”
I’ve grabbed this from the iOS store where it’s really important to search for “MyWhoosh Link”, because just “MyWhoosh” doesn’t return it as best I could see:
Clicking in to the app gives a bunch of features:

MyWhoosh Link
Companion App for MyWhoosh
And it shows the yellow app icon that you will see once you have installed the MyWhoosh Link app:
Once downloaded and installed, you will need to log in to the MyWhoosh Link app using your regular MyWhoosh credentials.
From there you get a home screen:
The home screen has a link to your profile:
I didn’t edit my data here, but I can tell you my ride count is not 83. That must be a bug.
From there I went back to the home screen.
Continuing on with the menu system:
There’s some prompts to allow Bluetooth. Presumably this is to work a bit like the Zwift Companion App, allowing you to ‘proxy’ your turbo trainer / heart rate monitor / power meter via your phone and into MyWhoosh.
I haven’t tried that.
Here are the two Bluetooth screens I saw:
Personally I have a Bluetooth and ANT+ dongle off my PC anyway, so this isn’t something I’d use or need, but it’s a useful feature to some I’m sure.
Back on the home screen, there is the yellow MyWhoosh logo which doesn’t do anything when clicked, although with the yellow ‘brackets’ it looks like it should(?!).
Then there is an icon I have no idea what it means or does – and can only say, with my rude mind – that it looks like a boob. Not at all sure what the boob icon does.
The bell is for notifications:
This presumably reminds you of any upcoming events.
Then down at the bottom of the app is another menu:
The icons here are:
- Home
- Messages
- Whoosher Connection
- Calendar
- Settings
The three screens from that menu that we haven’t seen then are:
I’m not entirely sure how the ‘You May know’ screen works right now. I think it’s just anyone human who has signed into the app.
I must say it triggers me something rotten that ‘You’ and ‘May’ are capitalised, but ‘know’ is not.
Interestingly they call this screen Whoosher Connection in the launch blurb, but don’t title it that way in the app. Here it’s seemingly called ‘Find Someone’ based on the default search text. If they want to push the Whoosher, they need to lead with it. Personally, I don’t like being called a Whoosher π
Next up we have the Calendar:
I do not have any group events in yet, so nothing on my calendar.
However there are lots of events to pick from, which can be found back on the home page, or the dedicated events page:
And finally, for the screens I have used so far, is the Settings screen:
There is also the Live View, which I haven’t used yet. But I will do so very shortly.
I was hoping the app would make it easier to read and write messages in-game, but that doesn’t seem to be the way Messaging works here. It’s more like Strava DMs or something. Maybe that will change in time.
Overall though, a pretty interesting and very welcome new feature to the MyWhoosh ecosystem. Good work!
